Queen Signed Album & Embassy Invitation
With exceptional provenance
An exceptional piece of rock ‘n’ roll history has been consigned to our upcoming live auction: a fully autographed 1984 copy of Queen’s hit LP The Works alongside a uniquely historic signed diplomatic invitation card.
Hand-signed on the front sleeve in biro by all four iconic band members—Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon—and dated ’86, this outstanding item boasts rock-solid, firsthand provenance directly from the original owner attached to the British Embassy in Budapest during the legendary 1986 ‘Magic’ Tour.
The Remarkable Provenance
In July 1986, Queen made history by performing behind the Iron Curtain at the Népstadion in Budapest. Arriving by boat from Vienna on July 24th, the band attended an exclusive reception in their honour at the British Ambassador’s Residence. The vendor and Embassy staff had the rare opportunity to meet the full lineup, where all four members graciously signed both this album sleeve and the official reception invitation card.
