A handsome and well-proportioned small silver sauce boat, hallmarked for Robert Pringle & Sons, London 1946, dating it firmly to the later years of George VI’s reign. Robert Pringle & Sons were a respected London silversmiths with a long heritage in producing quality domestic silverware.
The sauce boat is raised on three feet in the traditional manner and measures 15cm in length, with a solid gross weight of 126 grams — indicative of the quality of silver used in post-war British hallmarked pieces.
