A rare and exceptionally complete Drew & Sons crocodile skin vanity case, hallmarked for Drew & Sons, London, 1926–27. This stunning Edwardian travel case is a testament to the craftsmanship and luxury of a bygone era, and comes laden with its original silver-mounted accessories.
The case measures 51cm wide × 33cm deep × 18cm high (excluding handle) and contains a remarkable array of fitted items, including:
- Five glass jars and two bottles with silver mounts
- Two hairbrushes and two clothes brushes
- Hand mirror and shoe horn
- Boot hook and silver-handled manicure set
- Steel scissors and plastic comb
- Two crocodile skin jewellery boxes
- A crocodile skin writing folder
The exterior of the case features an engraved brass name plaque, along with evocative Cunard and other travel stickers — a wonderful hint at the well-travelled history of this piece.
